Barnfield College, part of the West Herts College Group, is one of the largest further education colleges in the region, offering a wide range of vocational, technical and academic programmes designed to help students progress to university, apprenticeships and employment. We have a growing apprenticeship offer with currently 40 Apprentices across various disciplines, with more on the way. We are also expanding work experience offering (paid and unpaid) as well as various entry-level positions that students post-18 could apply for with little experience required. (e.g. Our customer communications centre advisors and various administrative and coordination roles across the business.

Bedfordshire Employment and Skills Academy (BESA) and our partner training providers can support you to access education and training to build skills that will improve employability, support career opportunities, and enhance wellbeing. BESA delivers a range of short courses, qualifications, apprenticeships and employability support for residents, as well as support for local businesses.

We provide a wide variety of qualifications, from vocational courses and apprenticeships to higher education and professional certificates, along with employability skills and community training. Additionally, we serve as a national provider of education services in prisons nationwide. Operating from two campuses in Milton Keynes and Bletchley, we focus on meeting individual needs and welcoming those who want to learn and improve. The College plays a central role in the city’s economic vision and community strategy and is a major employer with over 1,000 staff members. Our sole aim is to be the best general Further Education College in the country, delivering the highest quality education to all learners. Red Bull Advanced Technologies is home to all the engineering disciplines required to deliver the ultimate solutions to a wide range of challenges. Performance is at the heart of everything we do, with simulation being used to understand the balance of trade-offs between competing requirements and to ensure the optimum solution is delivered every time.

Our locations in Bedford and Kempston include: our campus on Cauldwell Street, situated in the heart of town offering a variety of subject areas; our hair & beauty salon on Bedford High Street; and our Advanced Automotive Technology Centre on Brunel Road and gas & plumbing centre in Kempston. All have fantastic facilities designed to provide you with everything you need to succeed. If you study at one of our Bedford sites, you will also be close to train and bus links plus all the vibrant shops, cafes and restaurants.
