Pathways

Employment

Starting work after your GCSEs allows you to gain valuable workplace experience while earning a wage. If you’re aged 16 or 17, you’ll still need to continue in education or training alongside your job, which may include studying towards qualifications such as Functional Skills, NVQs or other work-based qualifications. This route is ideal for those keen to gain practical experience, develop workplace skills and begin building their career immediately while continuing to learn.
